Mentor Program 2006 - 2007
Woman to woman mentoring is both life and career enhancing. Between women, a mentoring relationship is a gift exchange. Woman to woman mentoring is based on shared values and trust, and involves developing a whole person. Any mentor/protégé connection is a relationship, but with female mentors, women can be their real, authentic selves. With another woman, a dialogue can be opened which includes all aspects of your lives - there need be no explaining of what it means to be female with a career within a life. Another woman will empathize with the difficulty and the goal because she will have faced similar choices and similar challenges.
There are more students than ever who wish to take advantage of the opportunity to connect with alumnae who have already been where they are and can relate to the sacrifices they are making in order to earn their degree. The orientation for the 2006-2007 program will take place in the new Chambers Center, Saturday, October 28th from 10:00 to Noon. A mentors only meeting will take place at 9:00 am immediately prior to the orientation.
This year there are two new co-chairs for the program, Marguerite Purchio.
